I’ve been wanting to share this for a while now and no, I’m not making any of this up. In Seattle, a 24-year old man by the name of Ben Foder, who goes by the pseudonym Phoenix Jones, leads a ten-member citizen crime-prevention patrol group called Rain City Superhero Movement. Other superheros in the group are Purple Reign, Red Dragon, Midnight Jack, Karma, SkyMan, Caballero, etc. I know what you’re thinking, do they wear costumes? Of course they do!
I couldn’t find images of all ten members but I stole a few off the internet to give you a taste of what I’m talking about. Phoenix Jones’ costume consists of a Dragon Skin bulletproof vest and stab plating (stab proof vest), as well as equipment including a stun baton, pepper spray, handcuffs, and a first aid kit. Yes, I’m still not making any of this up. I mean, what’s a more
reliable source than Wikipedia. Actually though, they have been on the news multiple times since we’ve moved here. Most recent being during the May Day protests and rioting that took place in downtown Seattle.According to the Wikipedia page, Jones has been shot and stabbed in the line of duty but came away unharmed.
Apparently Seattle is not the only city to be graced with the presence of real life superheroes. Others cities I found include Harrisburg, San Diego, New York, Washington DC, Milwaukee, Clearwater and Atlanta. I also found that multiple other countries like Britain, Australia, Norway, and France have also experienced these real life superheroes. I have never heard of anything like this before moving. I’d like to thank the great Northwest for opening our eyes to this strange movement. I say, keep up the great work Rain City Superheroes!
